Preparing for your appointment

If you are bothered by symptoms or think you might have Peyronie's disease, it’s best to make an appointment as soon as possible to talk with your doctor about your concerns.

You may feel awkward about discussing the curve of your erect penis and possible treatment for it. This is normal. It is important to remember that your doctor is a medical professional who is best able to accurately diagnose your Peyronie's disease, answer any questions that you may have, as well as provide you with detailed advice on the treatment options available. So take the opportunity to talk about your concerns.

Remember, early diagnosis will allow your doctor to determine the best way to manage your Peyronie's disease. Be sure to discuss all your symptoms with your doctor.

Don’t be afraid to ask your doctor if he or she is familiar with Peyronie's disease. It’s okay to ask for a referral to see a urologist or sexual health physician if you would like to talk to someone who specialises in conditions of the penis.
